Spring Season info:
1. Spring clearance is now done through “Registrar My Athlete” (RMA) which has replaced our “Athletic Packet” process. Remember, you must be cleared by Friday, February 12 th . Get your physicals done early!
2. PVUSD COVID protocols will continue to be followed as we did last summer and this past fall.
3. Preseason workouts will begin the week of Monday, January 4 th . All players are expected to sign up through the PVUSD Community Education department. Pitchers
and catchers (all levels) will throw at 2:45pm January 5 th , 6 th , and 7 th . All players will begin the week of January 11 th and conclude Friday, February 12 th .
a. Freshman—Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays 2:45-5:15pm
b. Sophomores—Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays 2:45-5:15pm
c. Juniors/seniors—Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays 2:45-5:15pm
4. No workouts Monday, January 18 th …MLK Day.
5. Tryouts begin Monday, February 15 th and final cuts for all levels will be made on Thursday, February 18 th . Freshman will tryout with their cohort, while sophomores,
juniors, and seniors will tryout together Monday thru Wednesday. On Thursday, juniors and seniors will work out together while sophomores will be separated into
their own cohort.
6. Any junior willing to take a JV assignment, must let me know by the end of the day on Tuesday, February 16 th .
7. Tryouts and practices will begin at 2:45pm M-F. Saturdays, President’s Day, and spring break practice times are TBA. Expect to practice Monday thru Saturday.
8. There will be 3 Pinnacle baseball teams in the spring, freshman, JV and varsity. The freshman team will consist of only freshman, the JV team may consist of freshman,
sophomores, and Juniors. The varsity team may consist of freshman thru seniors.
9. Spring schedules posted on the AIA website are not believed to be updated at this time and we expect changes to be made.
10. No hazing and/or initiations will be tolerated! Seniors will learn and demonstrate that leadership begins with servanthood.
11. Expect adjustments/movement within the rosters throughout the season.
12. Expect to practice and play games over spring break.
13. Catchers must provide their own gear and be in Pinnacle colors, additionally, chest protectors must have the NOCSAE stamp. Please contact Coach Messina with
questions.
14. Players are expected to ride the bus to and from games with the team.
15. The $200 PVUSD athletic fee must be paid prior to practice on Tuesday, February 23 rd .
Any player that has not paid, will be sent home. Please remember, this fee goes to the district and NOT our baseball program.
16. Locker rooms are currently unavailable at this time. Once we have the green light, players will be provided a locker upon request.
17. Receiving outside group instruction and/or playing with other baseball teams during the season is an AIA Bylaw violation (14.4.1) which results in being ineligible for the
remainder of the season.
18. We will wear navy blue cleats during games. This applies to all levels. The cleats must be primarily navy blue…a marginal amount of white trim is acceptable (I have veto
power). For practice, players will wear white baseball pants, a navy belt, navy socks, and a Pinnacle baseball shirt and hat. The freshman and JV team will wear white
pants for all games. Varsity players will wear both white and gray pants for games. All players will need to bring a pair of turfs or athletic shoes each day. No Vans!!!

Player waiver forms must be signed and turned in before any players can participate.
Please fill out both and email them to Coach Messina, or have your player hand deliver them to Coach at his new classroom by the gym. The forms will also be on the Pinnacle Baseball website real soon along with the Fall schedule & details & fees.
